American who slammed seafood and lobster price in Australia in hospital as she addresses ‘haters’

An American who became an internet sensation when she complained about seafood prices in Australia hit back at her haters as she was taken to hospital.

The woman, who uses the names baal.and.chain and Hunky Dory on her TikTok account, sparked the debate when she complained about the cost of lobster in Australia, when she craved a lobster roll.

‘Just a quick update for all my enemies. I was in the hospital for the last week, not because of the excessive consumption of seafood, ”he joked.

‘I had a bad reaction from some anesthesia.’

A woman (pictured) revealed why she took a week to respond to online comments about her.

The woman, possibly still feeling the effects of her hospital stay, made a strange comment at the end of her latest video.

“Yes, I’m using taxpayer dollars,” he said. ‘He dies crazy, you fucking bitch.’

The first part seemed to be a pre-emptive blow to those who now want to accuse her of using Medicare despite not being Australian.

It wasn’t clear if the second part was what she expected haters to say about her, or if she was saying that about them.

The expat had taken to social media to complain that he was craving a lobster roll, or shrimp cocktail or crab cakes, after a hot summer day by the pool.

But she just couldn’t satisfy her cravings because ‘lobster is like $60 a pound’.

She said it was “ridiculous” that lobster was so expensive in Australia because “it’s a fucking island.”

This led many of the ‘haters’ to point out that Australia is much more than an island.

“First I’d like to comment that I know Australia is a fucking continent, but it’s also an island,” he said in his latest video.

“My God, a lot of people are bugging me about it.”

In the original video, he complained that when he grew up in New England on the northeast coast of the US, seafood was “cheap and plentiful.”

“I had shellfish all the time…maybe not very cheap, but it wasn’t like Australian prices,” he said.

“And I just had a day at the pools and it’s hot and I just want a damn lobster roll, or shrimp cocktail, some crab cakes, fritters, and soup.”

Commenters quickly corrected his American English and made suggestions for where he should go for great seafood.

‘It’s not a prawn cocktail, it’s a prawn cocktail,’ wrote one, while another advised: ‘If you’re in Australia it’s crawfish, prawns and kilograms.’

You have to try the bugs. The Moreton Bay critters are the best. They are like mini lobsters. Trust me,’ said another.

In her follow-up video from the hospital, the woman joked that all she wanted to get was some free food.

“I thought I’d get some free seafood out of this,” he said.

‘Like, John West, bring my PR pack. It’s ridiculous (that they didn’t send me free seafood).

‘I mean, I’ll take what I can. Hunky Dory (one of her TikTok names)… hook up.’

His revelation that he was unwell brought some much-needed support in the comments below his video, with people wishing him well and hoping he gets well soon.

There was also some anger at the way she was treated with her previous video, with one saying ‘Fuck the haters’. Australian seafood is a scam! Recover.’

‘Do you know what you did in the Australian media?’ another said. ‘You fuck up an entire country.’

They also told her that people shouldn’t get angry about her medical treatment.

“I don’t know, no one is mad that you are using the publicly funded healthcare system,” said one.
