Gerard Piqué mocks ex-partner Shakira’s scorn song directed at him when announcing that his 7-a-side football league has reached a sponsorship deal with Casio… after she smacked his new girlfriend by saying she had downgraded from a Rolex!
Gerard Piqué has taken Shakira’s song with good humor after revealing that his 7-a-side football league reached a sponsorship agreement with Casio.
Shakira and former Barcelona and Spain defender Piqué announced their separation after 11 years together in June, and they have two children: Milan and Sasha.
The 45-year-old singer made fun of her ex and his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, in the lyrics of her latest song. The singer-songwriter makes it abundantly clear that she is referring to the 23-year-old that her former partner is rumored to have started dating last year before they split, saying, “I’m worth two 22s.” You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio.

Piqué showed a Casio watch and revealed that his soccer league 7 had reached a sponsorship deal with them after Shakira in her song said that she had traded a Rolex for a Casio.
Piqué appeared on a King’s League stream on Friday, where he gave an answer to Shakira for his 7-a-side football league of which he is president.
During the broadcast, he showed a watch on his wrist and said, ‘Casio has sent us wristwatches.
“We reached a sponsorship agreement with Casio, the King’s League reached an agreement with Casio.”

Those streaming with Piqué couldn’t stop laughing at his mocking comment on Shakira’s song, with his former teammate and former Manchester City star Sergio Agüero singing ‘Casio’ on the video wall behind him.
Piqué then added that “this watch will last a lifetime” before fellow streamer Ibai Llanos commented “you must be kidding” as the retired defender gave everyone on set a watch.
Agüero then joined in on the fun when asked why Piqué made the announcement, stating that his former teammate was ‘wiped out’ by Shakira.

Among Shakira’s other insults to Piqué in her song was that he needed to ‘work his brain’
He said: ‘It was because of the Shakira song. I think that’s why Casio sponsors us. Piqué was annihilated by that song.
Shakira’s song was full of hints at the 35-year-old who also played for Manchester United early in her career.
One of the song lyrics read: ‘Lots of gyms. But work your brain a bit too.
Shakira makes another clear allusion to Clara with the lyrics: ‘She has the name of a good person. It’s clearly not what she sounds like.’
Another part of the song says: “From love to hate there is only one step” before Shakira adds: “No hard feelings baby, I wish you the best with my supposed replacement.”
Only a small part of the lyrics leaked online before the worldwide release, referencing a part of the song where the mother of two sings: “I’m too big for you, that’s why you’re with someone like you” before continue: ‘I will not come back to you, even if you are crying or begging.’
