Fans tease Katy Perry as she poses for a VERY up-close selfie with Gwyneth Paltrow

Pop superstar Katy Perry is the newest guest on Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP podcast, which has featured other A-list guests like Kim Kardashian and Oprah Winfrey in the past.

And to promote the appearance, the actress, 50, took an extreme close-up selfie with the 38-year-old hitmaker that sparked a hilarious debate in the comments section.

Many fans found something a bit off about the singer’s appearance in the photo, with one fan jokingly asking if Gwyneth was posing with a ‘Katy Perry wax figure’.

Others blamed poor ‘lighting and editing’, as well as the awkward angle of the photo, for distorting the couple’s naturally beautiful faces.

For the selfie, Gwyneth, remarkably makeup-free, smiled for the camera with her hair neatly slicked back, while Katy looked stage-ready in full hair and makeup.

“You both look scary that you posted this pic lol,” read one rude comment, while another mocked Gwyneth for “[doing] Dirty Katy’ uploading the photo.

“I know Katy texted her asking why she chose this pic…and we all know Gwyn looks great,” one follower wrote, including a laughing and crying emoji.

Another wondered why “of all the photos” Gwyneth decided to share this one with her 8.2 million followers.

But all the banging was a lot of fun, as fans and supporters alike expressed their excitement about the multi-Grammy nominee’s interview.

‘Loved this + the energy between you two!’ he read a sweet comment, while another listener described it as “Funny, smart, current and touching.”

Katy and the Shakespearean In Love star talked about spirituality, purpose and finding fulfillment over their line of non-alcoholic beverages, De Soi.

He also opened up about his life with his fiancée Orlanda Bloom, with whom he welcomed daughter Daisy in August 2020.

Katy described the Lord of the Rings actor as the “most sincere” person.

“Yeah, he’s a very special guy,” Gwyneth added. He always puts a smile on your face when you see him.

Gwyneth said she actually ‘remembers’ when the Roar singer and Orlando first met and how he instantly fell for her.

‘[Orlando’s] the eyes were so illuminated. He was like, “I’ve never felt like this before.” And he was kind of bouncing up and down,’ she recalled.

Katy said Orlando was the ‘first man I ever met’ who was ‘consistent’ and ‘kept showing up’ for her despite seeing her at her ‘absolute worst’.

Katy and Orlando met in 2016 after she broke up with fellow musician John Mayer.

Katy explained that the couple had broken up at one point because she was “testing him like, do you really love me?”

‘Cause a lot of people love me on the surface, but I’m about to show you how fucking crazy I am. And can you take it? And he could take it! And he was there and he was strong and that’s a real man.

The duo finally got back together and Orlando proposed on Valentine’s Day 2019.

Katy added that another good sign is that ‘dogs and babies’ love the English hunk.

Before finding love with Orlando, Katy admitted to being attracted to ‘narcissists’, but did not divulge which of her famous exes fell under that label.

She was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012 and was once engaged to rapper Travie McCoy.

Katy has admitted to having an affair with DJ Diplo and revealed that singer Josh Groban was the inspiration for her song, The One That Got Away.

She now appreciates men with a ‘healthy ego’ like her husband-to-be.

Earlier Thursday, Katy showed off her ultra-glam looks in a hilarious clip where she pretends to be a sales associate at Boisson.

With locations in Beverly Hills and Brentwood, Boisson offers a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages, including Katy’s De Soi.

‘Have you met the new sales associate at @boisson.sips? Apparently he has a thing for De Soi’, captioned Katy, who included footage of herself dusting and putting up various displays in the stores.

The Resilient singer looked amazing in a curve-hugging brown ensemble that included a zip-up sweater and skinny pants.

Showing off her signature funky style, she layered it with a fur-lined purple coat.
