A mother has won $3 million after accidentally buying an Oz Lotto ticket in ‘unbelievable’ luck.
By chance, he bought Tuesday’s top division winning ticket from the CTC tobacco shop in Taree, on the north coast of New South Wales, with the intention of buying another lottery ticket for Wednesday.
But when he realized he’d paid for the Oz Lotto 12-game QuickPick instead of his regular lottery ticket, he decided to ‘keep it’, just in case.
A NSW mum happened to be the sole winner of the Oz Lotto 1508 draw and pocketed the $3 million up for grabs this week, but she did it all by accident.
The woman turned out to be the sole winner of the Oz Lotto 1508 draw and pocketed the $3 million at stake.
‘Is incredible. It’s an extraordinary amount of money,’ the winner told The Lott.
She said she couldn’t sleep after seeing the winning numbers and thought it must have been a mistake as winning lottery ‘happens to other people’.
‘I don’t normally buy Oz Lotto, I’ve probably only bought a ticket twice in my life.
‘But the other day, I was getting my regular ticket and I must have accidentally asked for a ticket for Tuesday’s draw instead of Wednesday.
“After the ticket was printed, I realized it was the wrong one, but I thought I should keep it.”
He bought Tuesday’s division one winning ticket from the CTC tobacco shop in Taree (pictured) on the North Shore of New South Wales by chance, intending to buy another lottery ticket for Wednesday.

Now I’m glad I did.
She said she will use the windfall to pay for the renovations and help prepare her family for the future.
CTC Taree owner Paul Rayment said he was excited for his store to sell out the division one ticket.
‘That’s great! That’s a first for us and it’s great to have one under our belt,” she said.
The winning numbers for the Oz Lotto 1508 draw on Tuesday this week were 26, 7, 38, 10, 37, 42 and 27, while the complementary numbers were 47, 33 and 34.
