I’m a lingerie connoisseur and this is the RIGHT way to put on a bra, but TikTok users insist “that’s the hard way.”

Many of us have our own method of putting on a bra, from twisting it to even putting it on.

But a British lingerie expert took to TikTok to demonstrate the proper way to put on lingerie to “preserve the life of your bra.”

Kelly, an employee of Janice Rose Lingerie in Newark, Nottingham, racked up 7.4 million views and 150,000 likes for her demo clip.

In it videoKelly showed you three wrong methods for holding a bra in place, before revealing the best method for the job.

To start, Kelly tried to pull her bra off over her head and tug it off before shaking her head, waggling her finger, and saying ‘no, no, no’.

She then attempted to climb onto the garment from ground level before confirming again that this was not the correct way to put on a bra.

The expert then used that all-too-common method of fastening the clasps in the front before tucking it around the body in place, again revealing this to be incorrect with her ‘no, no, no’ line.

Finally, Kelly demonstrated the correct way to put on a bra. She began by showing the bra already on and in place of her with the back undone.

Then she leaned forward awkwardly, placing her hands behind her back to lock the clasp in place.

Viewers were stunned and quickly took to the comments section. One person said, ‘Well, Janice, some of us just can’t do that.’

While another commented: ‘No no no no me Janice. The penultimate is always right. A third insisted: ‘No, that’s the hardest way to put it on.’

And a fourth added: “I don’t have eyes in the back of my neck.” Someone else quipped, “I don’t have the mental chops to cut in the back.”

Finally, he demonstrated the common method of fastening the snaps at the front before snapping it around the body in place, again revealing this to be incorrect.

Viewers were stunned and quickly took to the comments section, with one person claiming to not “have the mental chops” to fasten the pin from behind.

However, Kelly’s employer, founder of Janice Rose Lingerie, Janice Holmes responded to the criticism.

She explained: ‘Our TikTok video shows a back-closing bra, which needs to be fastened in the back to stop the stretching of the lower band.

This is in line with the manufacturer’s instructions and is designed to help extend the life of the bra. There are other styles of bras with no bras in the back that need to be pulled over the head.

“These fabrics are designed to pull and stretch, but the breast support won’t be as good.”
