There was a strange moment at the end of Barcelona’s 1-0 win over AtlĂ©tico Madrid on Sunday night when Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic were sent off for struggling on the pitch in the final moments.
The incident started when they were jockeying for the ball in the 92nd minute, but the pair continued to fight after Torres cleared the ball, when the Barca striker brought his opponent to the ground and struggled with him for around five seconds.
There seemed to be hair pulling, shoving and headlocks between Torres and the Atlético defender, with neither player taking an interest in the ball as it traveled down the pitch.

There were ugly scenes in extra time as fighting broke out between the opponents on the pitch.
Both Ferran Torres and Stefan Savic were sent off for a bizarre scrapping in the 92nd minute.
Eventually both got to their feet and pushed each other, but the incident still saw both players straight red cards.
It came at the end of a moody match that saw Atleti players lash out at the referee after Ousmane Dembele scored the game’s only goal due to complaints of a foul by Gavi in ââthe build-up.
Despite its somewhat ugly nature, the win sends Barca three points clear of rivals Real Madrid at the top of La Liga and continues a terrific form that has seen them win four of their last five games. .
Coach Xavi was in a jubilant mood after the game when he said: ‘It’s not just three points. this is a great morale boost. Without playing brilliantly we were able to suffer and come out with the three points.’

Barca boss Xavi called the victory a “big morale boost” for his players.
For Atlético, the loss continues a somewhat bleak season. Now they are 14 points behind Barça and out of the European positions.
“The first 20 minutes we couldn’t advance,” Diego Simeone said after his team’s defeat. “It wasn’t until they scored that we started playing the way we wanted to.”
Next Thursday, Barcelona will be in action when they take on Real Betis in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final, while Simeone’s men take on AlmerĂa in La Liga on Sunday.
