Roxy Jacenko defends 11-year-old daughter Pixie’s huge Instagram fame
Roxy Jacenko defends her 11-year-old daughter Pixie’s Instagram fame despite fears about children’s privacy on social media, insisting it’s just a “modern photo album”.
Roxy Jacenko has allayed concerns about her 11-year-old daughter Pixie’s large social media following, saying Instagram is the modern equivalent of a photo album.
The PR queen appeared on The Sunday Project to discuss child safety online and made the case for creating an Instagram account for Pixie when she was a little girl.
I have collaborated a lot with her. It’s memories for them: we used to flip through a photo book, they flip through Instagram,” the 42-year-old said.

Pixie’s Instagram account, managed by Roxy, has 121,000 followers and 5,400 posts, with strong engagement for everything posted.
Roxy said she knows where to draw the line on what kind of photos to upload.
“The most important thing is to make sure I don’t have pictures of my kids in a bathroom and to make sure I blur out the logo on their school uniform,” she said.

She added that it was okay for parents to allow their young children to use social media as long as they were “smart” about how to handle it.
It comes after Roxy faced criticism for Pixie’s extravagant Christmas wish list.
She made headlines in November after posting a photo of Pixie’s handwritten list, which included a $9,000 handbag and various designer fashion items.

While some followers found the post amusing, others accused Roxy of ‘spoiling’ her daughter with material goods instead of teaching her to be charitable.
“You might want to take her and you to a homeless shelter and show her what it means to be humble instead of a spoiled brat!” wrote one reviewer.
‘How to raise a materialistic child – just follow Roxy for advice. Amazing this kid knows all these markings but he still can’t spell CHRISTMAS,” another commented.
Responding to the backlash, Roxy told Daily Mail Australia: “There will always be someone with an opinion without knowledge of what we donate and contribute financially to various communities and charities.”
