Sue Perkins reveals she has ADHD and admits that ‘everything made sense’ once she had the diagnosis
Sue Perkins has revealed that she has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The former Great British Bake Off presenter, 53, made the revelations in response to a Twitter post by Gomez guitarist Tom Gray who admitted he was ‘dragging’ towards his own diagnosis of the disorder.
Sharing her own experience, Sue told Tom that once she was diagnosed, “it all made sense” to her.

Musician Tom had opened up about the effect his undiagnosed condition was having, writing on his page: “I’m getting closer to an ADHD diagnosis.” It is highly recommended that you do this to help me, but it is more likely to help people who are in a relationship with me.
‘I’ve never realized before that object permanence is such a big problem for me. Keeping in touch rarely occurs to me. I can only apologize. X.’
To which Sue responded by sharing her own experience, telling her, ‘I’ve completely slipped. Once I had the diagnosis, it suddenly all made sense, to me and to those who love me. I wish you the best on your journey, Tom x.

ADHD is a mental disorder that affects behavior. People with the condition feel restless, may have trouble concentrating, and may act impulsively.
The exact cause is unknown, but the condition has been shown to run in families.
Most cases are diagnosed in children between the ages of three and seven, but it is sometimes diagnosed later in childhood.

People with ADHD may also have additional problems, such as sleep and anxiety disorders.
It comes after Sue revealed that she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in 2015.
The TV presenter didn’t realize she had the condition until she underwent a health exam as part of her Supersizers show.
And speaking in 2021, Sue, who split from ex Anna Richardson that year, reflected on her diagnosis of a tumor on her pituitary gland, which may have affected her ability to have children.

sue said Mirror: ‘I don’t know if I would have had children. But as soon as someone says you can’t have something, you want it more than anything.
Sue regularly attends hospital checkups to monitor the symptoms of her tumor.
‘Sometimes it messes up my hormones. Now I have several tests to make sure the side effects are not too burdensome.

The comedian told the newspaper: “I’ve been through a very, very dark time since the tumor started to make its presence felt. ‘
A benign brain tumor is a relatively slow-growing mass of noncancerous cells in the brain, according to The National Health Service.
Sue’s tumor is in the pituitary gland in her brain, which is the gland responsible for releasing hormones into the bloodstream.
