Love Island bosses have “signed their first vision-impaired contestant,” according to a new report on Saturday.

Ron Hall, 26, is said to be among the next batch of hopefuls to head to South Africa to look for love when the latest series kicks off later this month.

The keen golfer and boxer hopes to “raise awareness and help others by discussing” his disability on screen, according to Sun.

A source told the publication: ‘The casting team is excited about the signing. It’s a really positive move to have more diversity on screen, especially since there are so few blind people on TV.

“Ron is a great guy, he has a lot of friends and is passionate about sports, he loves golf and recently started boxing.

“He is also very open about his disability and hopes to raise awareness and help others by discussing it on screen.”
