Strict lovebirds Nadiya Bychkova and Kai Widdrington have revealed how they kept their romance a secret for months.
The couple confirmed that they were dating last April, but enjoyed the start of their relationship away from the spotlight, thanks to clever decoys.
And their romance seems to be going from strength to strength, with Kai declaring that they “want to be together for life” when asked if fans can look forward to an engagement in the future.

The professional dancers say their relationship began when Kai, 27, worked up the courage to ask Nadiya, 33, to dinner after weeks of text messages and phone calls.
But the couple were determined to keep their burgeoning romance a secret, hanging out in baseball caps or disguised so they wouldn’t be recognized.
Looking back at the beginning of their romance, Kai tells her Sun: ‘We knew it would come out and it would be something big, so we kept it private for as long as we could, which was upsetting and exciting at the same time.

‘It was one of those things. We were going somewhere and only we knew we were there. Sometimes we would go out in costumes, or very low baseball caps, and we knew that this period of time was only going to last for a short time.
And when asked if a compromise could be in the cards, he sheepishly says, ‘Listen, what can I say? . . We are very happy together and we don’t want this to end. Of course we want to be together for life, so we’ll see where it goes.
The professional dancer says that while they didn’t have to tell HR they were looking for a relationship, they did and the BBC was “all in for it”.

Their romance came as a surprise to Strictly viewers, as the 2021 series was plagued by speculation that Kai was dating his famous partner AJ Odudu, while Nadiya had yet to announce the end of her engagement to Matija Škarabot.

Addressing the AJ romance rumors, Kai said that people writing about the chemistry between him and his celebrity partner on the dance floor “means I’ve done a good job.”
