50 Cent confirms he and Eminem are developing TV series based on film 8 Mile

50 Cent and Eminem return to Detroit for their new project.

The In da Club rapper, 47, confirmed that he and his 50-year-old friend and mentor are developing a series based on the critically acclaimed film 8 Mile.

After rumors surfaced online that the couple were ‘supposedly’ working together on the series, the father-of-two took to Instagram to confirm the news on Friday.

‘Yeah, and you thought I was PLAYING, I mean it man! this is going to be crazy. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi,” wrote 50 Cent (born Curtis James Jackson III), in the post’s caption.

The image he shared showed a screenshot of an article published by Billboard reporting the news.

Earlier in the day, the star opened up about the development of the show in an interview with big boy tv.

He said that one of the main reasons he wanted to do the show was to make sure young children knew about Eminem’s roots and his impact.

“I want to bring, I’m going to bring, 8 Mile to television,” he said. It’s going to be big. I am working. I don’t have rags. I’m hitting 100. I think I should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand him.’

He continued: “I think I should be there for his legacy, because if you don’t see it…it’s important to me that they understand, you know what I mean?”
