Fans have been left in awe after Kyle Walker nearly knocked out his own teammate Bernardo Silva with a throw-in during Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Chelsea on Thursday.
The incident occurred in the 35th minute when City fired down the right wing into Chelsea’s field, with Walker looking for someone to pass the ball to.
After hesitating for a few seconds, he quickly turned to his left and shot the ball toward the halfway line. However, Silva was only a few meters from him, and with the ball reaching head level, the Portuguese midfielder had to quickly dodge out of the way to avoid being hit in the face.
Kyle Walker considered his options as he prepared to take a throw-in from the right flank.
He proceeded to throw the ball at Bernardo Silva’s head, forcing his teammate to duck.
Fortunately for him, he managed to avoid being hit and the ball fell into the hands of Kai Havertz, who started a Chelsea counter-attack. Followers saw the funny side of the bizarre incident, but they could hardly believe what they just saw.

With Silva narrowly avoiding a potentially painful punch to the face, fans also joked that he must have done something to upset Walker.

Walker had not started any of City’s three previous games after returning from the World Cup.

“Based on the evidence of this pitch, Kyle Walker has been training…a lot,” they wrote.
Walker did not have much more time to make up for Silva, as Pep Guardiola took him off at half time after a sub-par first-half performance from City.
Silva was also substituted on the hour mark, and his replacement, Riyad Mahrez, scored the winner as City grabbed a crucial three points at Stamford Bridge.
