“Let’s play a game,” the note read with an image of the character Jigsaw who uses the phrase in the Saw horror movie franchise.

“Today’s Wi-Fi password can be unlocked by texting or emailing me two photos of a tidy room.”

He stipulated that the image must contain his “used” laundry baskets that “are not sitting in the corner of his room like some foreign object that he thinks will burn if touched.”

The cheeky father also hid the children’s Xbox controllers and said he would reveal a “secret” to their location once he sees a clean bathroom and toilet.

‘May luck be on your side. With love, papa x’, concluded the note.

Hundreds of parents thought the tactic was “brilliant,” but some pointed out some obvious flaws in the parent’s plan.

‘How can they email you the photos if there’s no Wi-Fi?!’ they asked.

“It doesn’t help when they have unlimited data,” added another.

Others were eager to use the note on their own children, while some joked that they would do the same for lazy husbands and partners.

‘Ask me for a printed one,’ said one mother, and another replied: ‘That’s clever! Congratulations to Dad!’

“I’m saving this for when the kids are older,” said a third.

“This could work with our husbands, never mind the kids,” a fourth laughed.
