A 26-year-old man has been denied bail after he allegedly “touched and sexually assaulted up to nine people”, including two girls, in a busy shopping mall.
Police were called to the Westfield shopping center in Liverpool, southwest of Sydney, at around 3:15pm on December 21, 2022, following reports that a man allegedly groped two girls aged six and nine.
A man was arrested shortly after he was stopped by security as he left the complex.
He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and initially faced two counts of common assault and stalking or intimidation with the intent to cause fear of bodily harm.

However, the local Liverpool man was handed a further 18 charges last Thursday following continued investigations by NSW Police.
They include three counts of sexually touching another person without consent, four counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under the age of 10, two counts of intentionally sexually touching a child between the ages of 10 and 16, and nine counts of common battery.
The man is understood to have allegedly assaulted or groped nine different people at the mall on the day of his arrest.
He was denied bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on 9 January 2023.
NSW Police are continuing to investigate the matter.
