He was denied bail from police to appear in court on Thursday.

The 64-year-old woman is believed to have been in a “domestic relationship” with the man, police said.

On Wednesday afternoon, Richmond Police District Commander Superintendent Scott Turner confirmed that the man had been charged with murder.

“That person came to the police station reporting some concerns about (the woman), so it will be part of the document that will go to trial.”

He said the woman suffered “significant head trauma” but police did not believe weapons were involved.

“Police are still searching the location, but we believe no weapons were involved. The body was located next to the building in an area that was not accessible to the public.
