Royal sources slam ‘nonsense’ claims by Prince Harry his family has ‘no willingness to reconcile’

Suggestions from Prince Harry that his family have shown no desire to reconcile with him have been dismissed by royal sources who say his father invited him to visit for Christmas.
The Duke of Sussex claimed that a potential reunion with his family across the pond did not appear to be in the cards, saying his father and brother had “absolutely no desire to reconcile”.
He made the claim in a trailer for an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby, which he did as part of the publicity campaign for his new memoir, Spare, due out next week.
but those inside at Buckingham Palace have poured cold water on the claims, calling them “nonsense” and saying that Harry and his wife Meghan had a open invitation to join the rest of the Firm this Christmas.
Royal sources have said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to join the family this Christmas. Pictured: King Charles and his wife Camilla lead the royal family on a walk in Sandringham on Christmas Day.
That’s despite the launch of their bombastic Netflix show in the weeks leading up to the festive period, which saw them launch a series of attacks on the monarchy.
Talking with him Mirrora source said Harry’s latest claim was “complete and unadulterated nonsense”.
They said: “It takes some boldness to say that when his father invited him to stay at his house when he was in the UK, he invited him to spend Christmas with the rest of the family and continued to make public statements of support.”
They also told the publication: ‘[The King] she has been saddened that she did not have the opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren. She has always left the door open for her son and will continue to do so.’
Representatives for Prince Harry have been contacted for comment.
However, some royal experts have suggested that the already strained relationship between Harry and the rest of his family could further deteriorate with the release of his memoirs.
Experts fear the Duke of Sussex and his brother William, Prince of Wales, will “never reconcile” after Spare is published, and the book will feature scathing attacks on him and his wife Kate.
A source told the sunday time: ‘In general, I think the book [will be] worse for them than the Royal Family expects.
Everything is exposed. Charles comes off better than he expected, but he’s tough on William in particular, and even Kate takes a bit of a volley.
There are these minute details and a description of the fight between the brothers. I personally can’t see how Harry and William will be able to reconcile after this.
The memoirs have been written by ghostwriter JR Moehringer, with the Duke donating part of the proceeds to charity.
It is feared that there will be no chance of reconciliation after the publication of Harry’s memoirs. Before it is published next week, a pair of interviews with Harry conducted by CBS’s Bradby and Anderson Cooper at a rented ranch in Montecito will be released.
In a trailer for the interview with Bradby, the Duke of Sussex said he “would like my father and brother back”, adding that his family “has shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile”.
Harry says “it never had to be like this” and refers to “escape and seeding” before adding “I want a family, not an institution.”
He also says, in an apparent reference to the royals, “they feel it’s best to keep us the villains in some ways,” which probably doesn’t help the frayed relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the Firm, which sources say is already over. ‘Hang on a wire’.
But a royal expert said Harry and Meghan need to learn that “silence is common sense” and airing dirty laundry in public is unlikely to help achieve the reconciliation the duke says he wants.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said the claims made by the Sussexes in the press are not helping the fractured relationship.
Harry would like to “get his brother back” and “… his father back”, but surely he must know that further exposing this catalog of problems is not the way to do it.
“More accusations from stories the Palace planted against them in both interviews show just how bitter he and Meghan still are, but, even if his fans support him, there will come a time when even the media will tire of exposure at this level.
Referring to the Palace’s inability to protect them from false reports, Harry says in the CBS interview trailer that “there comes a point where silence is betrayal.”
‘There is also a point, if you desire any relationship, however distant, with the royal family, that silence is common sense. When will the Sussexes know this?
In a preview of his interview with American television personality Anderson Cooper, Harry was asked why he had not shared his complaints with the family in private.
In response, he said: “Every time I have tried to do it in private, there have been briefings, leaks and seeding of stories against me and my wife.
“The family motto is never complain and never explain, it’s just a motto.”
And he added: ‘They [Buckingham Palace] you’ll feed or have a conversation with a correspondent, and that correspondent will literally spoon up information and write the story, and at the end, they’ll say they’ve contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
“But the whole story is commented on by Buckingham Palace.
“So when we’ve been told for the last six years, ‘we can’t put out a statement to protect you,’ but you do it for other family members, there comes a point where silence is betrayal. ‘
The clips appear to confirm reports that Harry will use his memories to reveal details about disagreements between him and his brother, the 40-year-old Prince of Wales.
It comes after the duke claimed in his Netflix documentary that William broke a promise never to leak stories or inform each other after witnessing the consequences of such actions in his father’s office.
