Finns Beach Club, Bali slammed by Australians over New Year’s Eve party with Diplo

An Australian tourist has lashed out at a popular nightclub in Bali after shelling out hundreds of dollars for what he described as one of his worst New Year’s Eve experiences.

Kieran Geraghty planned to ring in the new year with a group of six friends at Finns Beach Club on the popular Indonesian island on Saturday.

Each person chipped in AUD$415 for the $2,500 VIP Deluxe Bed Lounge package and was promised exclusive perks like access to a chaise lounge, table service and shorter lines at the bar.

But Geraghty complained that the experience was anything but exclusive, criticizing the expensive drinks, lack of service and hour-long queues at the bar.

He is one of several partygoers who have complained about the night claiming they fell short after spending thousands of dollars on the experience.

The upset tourist claimed that the staff refused to provide table service unless they spent a minimum of $350 AUD on drinks, which would only leave them with a bottle of Skyy Vodka.

“All they care about is making money,” he said in a TikTok video.

Geraghty complained that she had to queue for hours at the bar with everyone else despite being told she would have a dedicated line.

“They said we would have our own dedicated bar line for everyone in our section who paid $2,500,” he said.

‘The bar, for a drink, lasted about an hour.’

Geraghty said he was “angry” about the overall experience, saying the club were only concerned with making money.

“The owners should be ashamed of themselves,” he said.

“But it will continue to happen because next year it will sell out and all they care about is making money and nothing is going to change because they are the Finns.”

Mr Geraghty told Daily Mail Australia that the cost of drinks at the bar was high with a shot of alcohol priced at $20 AUD.

He estimates that he spent $400 on drinks and food and the meals fell short of his expectations.

“The food we could only get in a $170 package on our bed,” he said.

“It only included two sushi rolls, chicken wings, two pizzas, and flatbread and sauce.”

Geraghty said the experience would have been even worse for partygoers who purchased a general admission ticket.

“They couldn’t even see the stage,” he said.

They were blocked on one side of the Finns.

“We met someone when we were out who spent $4,500.”

Geraghty said the bad experience led him to leave early at 10 p.m., while some of his friends decided to stay to watch the fireworks.

“There were a lot of people leaving at the time,” he said.

“It was promised that we had our own dedicated bar that everyone ended up being able to use,” he said.

“I was also told that we would have a waiter to get drinks and food, but I forgot to mention that it was for bottle service only.”

Geraghty took out her frustration on TikTok, prompting social media users to join in.

‘VIP GA was over capacity, bar line 100m long, $30 for a drink and only 3 drinks at a time. Biggest cash grab by organizers,” one person wrote.

Several partygoers expressed their frustration on TripAdvisor, criticizing the overall experience.

‘You pay A$360 to spend the whole time in line waiting for a drink. It was supposed to be “VIP,” one person wrote.

‘There was NOTHING VIP about it. For your money you get a small plastic glass with cheap wine and the pleasure of sitting on a piece of grass.
