Kayvon Thibodeaux claims he didn’t know Nick Foles was injured when he celebrated a sack of Colts quarterback as Indianapolis center Ryan Kelly calls Giants rookie Snow Angels ‘horses***’

New York Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux claimed he was unaware the Indianapolis Colts’ Nick Foles was injured when he celebrated a sack while the quarterback was on the ground in pain.

Foles left late in the first half of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a rib injury.

Foles was sacked on third down by Thibodeaux with 50 seconds left in the second quarter. Thibodeaux landed on top of Foles, who left the field under his own power as he held his ribs before being wheeled to the locker room on a cart.

As Foles writhed in pain, Thibodeaux was on the ground next to him making ‘snow angels’ to celebrate his looting.

But Thibodeaux claimed after the game that he didn’t realize Foles was in pain until he got up from his celebration.

“After a sack, you celebrate,” Thibodeaux said twice. “I think when I realized that he was hurt, that’s when we started to get up. When you’re celebrating, you’re not looking to see who’s doing what. I hope he recovers, and I hope he’s okay.’

Despite the linebacker’s defense, Colts center Ryan Kelly shared his frustration with Thibodeaux’s celebration.

‘Maybe one day I’ll learn that injuries happen in this league. You never want that to happen to the guy you’re up against. Those are just *** horses,” Kelly said, according to Colts.com.

The Colts, trailing 21-3 at the time, punted on the next play. Backup Sam Ehlinger was expected to replace Foles on the team’s next possession.

The Giants ultimately ran out winners 38-10 to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Foles was named the Indianapolis starter before last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, replacing Matt Ryan.

Foles threw three interceptions in a 20-3 loss to the Chargers, but interim coach Jeff Saturday said the team would stick with him for the rest of the season. Ryan was inactive on Sunday.

Foles had completed 8 of 13 passes for 81 yards and rushed once for 8 yards before going. On the drive before his injury, Foles was intercepted by Landon Collins, who ran 52 yards for a touchdown.

Ehlinger was briefly named the starting quarterback for two games earlier this season.

He was 32 of 52 passing for 304 yards, no touchdowns, one interception and one lost fumble in losses to the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots.
