Kerry Katona gives health update after being struck down with ‘nasty’ virus

Kerry Katona has updated her fans on her health after being attacked by a ‘nasty’ virus that ‘ruined’ her Christmas.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, 42, took to Instagram on Friday to share a video of her car, saying she had been feeling “unwell”.

The mother-of-five said she has a swollen neck and a sore throat, saying: “I feel like crap and I want to cry.”

Kerry currently plays an ugly sister in the pantomime Cinderella in Lincoln, alongside her 19-year-old daughter Lily-Sue.

She lamented: ‘I’m sick of moaning and complaining that I’m wrong. It literally ruined my entire panto experience. You have ruined my Christmas.

Kerry came down with covid earlier this month and said he had improved on antibiotics, before falling ill again in the days after Christmas.

She added: “It really got me down because I’m usually like the person who’s full of morals and keeps the energy up, and all I do is moan and complain.”

She apologized and said: ‘All I’m doing is moaning, because it just ruined everything. This disease has ruined everything.

She continued: ‘I just want to feel better because I don’t have much time left. [in panto] and I have not enjoyed it, because I have been very ill. I’m sick of moaning bloody about it.

She revealed that the illness has continued for weeks, saying: “I was so bad [earlier this month]I got on stage and did it, and then I got better, and now I’m sick again.’

Kerry said she was suffering from a “nasty” virus and couldn’t understand why she couldn’t shake it off, saying: “I don’t go out, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke.”

She added: ‘When I’m good, I’m fit. I’m an optimist, I’m the one who keeps everyone’s energy levels up, I’m a lot of fun.

“This virus, whatever it is that’s going on, it’s just, it’s literally sucked it out of me.”

She was inundated with comments from concerned fans offering advice and sending her messages of recovery.

One said: “He’s probably exhausted too, he needs to rest and take a high dose of vitamin C and D, honey and lemon in hot water and chill.” I hope you feel better soon’.

Another sick fan said: ‘God knows how you’ve done, Kerry. It’s fucking awful. I’ve been working from bed! I hope you feel better soon. Don’t blame yourself for moaning. You must be knackered. Get in bed and stay there for a week ASAP!

A third advised: ‘Dismiss the next 7 days off. You come first, not panto x’.

And a fourth said: ‘have you seen a doctor, you need a face-to-face, your neck shouldn’t be so swollen’. You need a serious break xxx’.
