Diana’s close friend Nigel Havers hasn’t watched The Crown
Nigel Havers has revealed that he hasn’t seen The Crown because he doesn’t want to “bother himself.”
The 71-year-old actor, who was close friends with the late Princess Diana, said he did not believe the Netflix series was “accurate” and said it should not be confused with real life.
During an appearance on Loose Women on Thursday, Nigel also revealed the funny comment Prince William and Kate made to him after seeing him in the panto with their three young children, Louis, Charlotte and George.

Speaking about The Crown on the daytime show, he said: “It’s a TV show, not to be confused with real life and it’s entertaining, yes.”
“I don’t think it’s accurate, but it’s a great success. I haven’t seen it because I don’t want to bother.
Nigel was once close to Diana, played by Elizabeth Debicki in The Crown, previously saying of her: “I was good friends with Diana. She was a lovely woman. I used to run into her at various things.

During his appearance on Loose Women, Nigel was promoting his current pantomime.

During the chat, he revealed that Prince William and Kate came to see him with their three children.
Nigel then revealed that William shared a joke with him about some of the crude double entendres Panto is famous for.

He said: “Will and Kate came over last year and he said to me after ‘I’ve got some explaining to do when I get home’ after all the double entendres.
‘The kids didn’t understand why Will was laughing at certain parts!’
He added about his role in pantos in general: ‘It’s my seventeenth year! When I started I had no gray hair!
‘This year I’m playing myself: King Nigel in this year. It’s a great cast, Dawn French is back, Julian Clary is even ruder to me than before!

The star-studded £2 million production is currently at the London Palladium.

Marking a return to pantomime after two years of Pantoland, the festive West End event takes place from December 10 to January 15.

Along with Harrison, the creative team also includes choreographer Karen Bruce, set designer Mark Walters, costume designer Hugh Durrant, lighting designer Ben Cracknell and sound designer Gareth Owen. Composition and orchestrations are by Gary Hind.
