And the Christmas special episode of This Morning was no different for Holly Willoughby, who had to try not to laugh as Santa slipped in with a cheeky innuendo.

Hosting alongside her co-star Philip Schofield, Holly was talking to Santa Claus in the studio at the Sunday morning holiday show when she divulged that “Mrs. Claus loves a good stuffing!”

The hosts opened the show with a warm welcome to their audience on Christmas morning.

Asking Santa how busy preparing for Christmas must have been for him, Holly mentions that he must have a well-deserved day off on the 25th.

‘It’s obviously a holiday for all of you, I imagine?’ Holly asks Santa, who spoke to the hosts live from his grotto at the North Pole.

“Well no, we have a big job today,” Santa tells the host. ‘Mrs Claus is preparing a Christmas dinner for everyone, everyone: all the elves, the red carpet.

This leaves Holly holding back a laugh and Phil looking at the camera with an amused look.

On the show, the hosting duo dons festive hats during the jam-packed episode, which features performances from the likes of Sir Cliff Richard and The Muppets.

Looking festive as always in the episode’s snaps, Holly donned a shimmering silver minidress with velvet bow detailing and shoulder pads.

While co-host Phil matched while rocking a bright red Santa hat and burgundy shirt.

Holly began by telling viewers, ‘It’s the big day! It’s here…it’s so exciting! Whether you’re with friends or family or just this year, we’ll keep you entertained with lots of festive fun and games!’

Raising a glass to wish viewers a Merry Christmas, the popular duo were joined by co-hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Gyles was on hand to bring some fun by having the hosts play party games that are good for Christmas guests, with one leaving the four hosts alone on all fours!

While in another game, Alison, Dermot, Phil and Holly try to open wrapped Christmas presents with oven mitts, sitting around a festive fireplace.

Taking a break from the games, Rochelle poured some spicy apple juice to relax the hosts.
