It’s been another great year for music, culminating in LadBaby’s historic fifth consecutive Christmas number one, surpassing the Beatles’ 50-year record.

Beyoncé released one of the most popular albums of the year, Renaissance, which reached over 179 million streams in its first week, while Harry Styles’ number one album Harry’s House turned out to be the UK’s favorite of 2022.

Taylor Swift also topped chart history, claiming the entire Top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with songs from her album Midnights in October.

The year was also a surprise success for classic hits, with Kate Bush scoring her first number one single in 44 years when Running Up That Hill reached the top of the charts.
