Ex-sales associate reveals why cheating men buy wives and mistresses SAME perfume for Christmas

A former sales assistant has revealed the telltale sign that a man is cheating on his wife at Christmas, saying that crafty scoundrels like to buy their wives and lovers the same perfume for a very important reason.

Shannon Hill has more than 574,000 followers on TikTok, where she is known for her “deep dives” into pop culture. But in a recent videoopened up about her experience dealing with cheating partners while working at the Chanel counter in college.

“I have a little story, a little tea for you, if you will, about what husbands buy not only for their wives, but also for their mistresses,” she said. “I was only 19 at the time, but I learned this fast.”

She remembered how husbands would go in and buy perfume for their wives for Christmas, wrap it up nicely, and then ask for the same fragrance for their lovers.

Between bites of her salad, she recalled how men would come over on vacation to pick up their favorite Chanel products for their wives, saying they “had it all on file.”

‘Some of the husbands would come in and buy their wife her favorite fragrance. They would wrap it up very well, and then they would buy the same fragrance for her lover,” she stated.

‘Because guess what? They didn’t want to leave her mistress’s house smelling like a different woman.

Hill explained that after working there for a while and meeting the regular customers, it was easy to tell which husbands were cheating. For some reason, they were all supposedly drawn to the same scent.

“Interestingly, it was always, always the same fragrance,” he noted. It was Coco Mademoiselle perfume. It was never number 5 because people would come in and buy it for his mom. They were never Chance perfumes. It was always Coco Mademoiselle.

“Us girls at the counter always have the tea,” the video concluded.

Hill explained that they chose the same scents because they “didn’t want to leave their lover’s house smelling like a different woman.”

Hill’s story touched other sales assistants who were inspired to share their own stories of cheating customers.

Hill also noted that they always chose the same fragrance: Coco Mademoiselle.

‘I worked in high-end jewelry for years. Husbands did the same. It was [always] funny to see the [mistress] Come after Christmas and change it, one person recalled.

I used to work in fine jewelry and my husbands used to buy the same pieces for their lovers too! someone else agrees, while another added: “I never knew how many married men had affairs until I worked at a jewelry store.”

Others said they have heard similar accounts from Victoria’s Secret employees and personal stylists. Some people who work in the service industry also stated that men like to take their wives and lovers to the same restaurants and bars.

‘We bartenders too. Sunday brunch with wife and kids, lunch breaks and cocktails with mistress,” one person explained.

Hill’s story coincided with that of other sales assistants, bartenders and servers who have had similar experiences with cheating customers.

‘I [waitressed] for years and the [number] of men who would have dinner with their wives during the week and lovers during the weekend IN THE SAME PLACE,’ someone else shared.

Another added: ‘I worked at the VW dealership in the ’90s. I had a few guys buy cars with cash. It is delivered with ties to lots of apartments. Never your house.

Hill admitted in the comments that she was often tempted to rat out her cheating clients and make it look like an accident, but she resisted.

“I got to know some of these wives pretty well after years,” he explained. ‘so many [times] I also wanted to “fall”.
