Social media erupts as Erling Haaland nets after just TEN minutes on his return to action

Erling Haaland sparked a social media frenzy after scoring just minutes after his return to action against Liverpool after the World Cup winter break.

The Norwegian striker scored his 24th goal of the season against Liverpool in a great round of 16 clash in the Carabao Cup.

And the football world has been mesmerized by how quickly it took the 22-year-old to score goals again, in what was his League Cup debut.

It took Erling Haaland just ten minutes to score in Man City’s return to football, tucking into home after taking on Liverpool’s Joe Gomez.

Haaland’s goal was his 24th goal of the season as the striker continues his incredible start at Manchester City.

It was a textbook Manchester City goal with Kevin De Bruyne laying it up as usual, despite crossing the ball from the left with his weaker foot.

Haaland, who had previously missed a crucial one-on-one chance, was not wrong this time, as his magnificent movement allowed him to get in front of Joe Gomez to put Kelleher past from around eight yards with his left foot.

Social media erupted into a frenzy with soccer fans deprived of Haaland’s magnificence during the World Cup.

It was Kevin De Bruyne who assisted Haaland’s goal with a delicious cross from the left.

One user said: “Bro, I’m still not over the World Cup and Haaland has scored again like nothing happened.”

Meanwhile, another added: ‘De Bruyne setting up, Haaland scoring. Club football is officially back.

And a third tweeted: ‘I’m afraid one day I’ll get bored of Haaland constantly scoring goals. Luckily today is not that day. What a sexy Norwegian!!!’

Another added: ‘Erling Haaland can’t stop scoring. He is a god.’

And a fifth said: ‘Haaland scoring just after a couple of minutes into the game, he’s a monster……’

Social media erupted into a frenzy after Haaland scored with the striker without having played in the World Cup.

Former England defender Jamie Carragher, who co-commented the game for Sky Sports, praised the City striker and his teammate Kevin De Bruyne.

Describing Haaland’s goal, he said: ‘That’s what Man City deserved in these first 10 minutes. Combination of two of the best players in the world (Haaland and Bryune).

“It’s brilliant from Haaland, but not great from Joe Gomez, who is sleeping. He gets the tacks on him. He has been given an opportunity, he was not going to miss the second.

Meanwhile, former England striker Dion Dublin, commentating on BBC Radio 5 Live, said: “It’s a patient, patient, patient game.” Erling Haaland does it so well that he steps out of the defenders’ line of sight and before you know it he’s across you.
