Poignant images have surfaced on social media of a large group of Tibetan monks celebrating Argentina winning the World Cup.
A clip was uploaded to the World Football Club Twitter page after superstar Lionel Messi guided La Albiceleste to glory in Qatar.
The footage shows the monks relishing nirvana on the full-time whistle.
After sharing the vision with his over 117,000 followers, Australian football great Craig Foster was blown away by the scenes.
“Of all the amazing displays of collective emotion and unity of human experience that is the global language of soccer, perhaps this is the most illuminating,” the former Socceroos midfielder tweeted.

A number of Foster’s supporters were equally impressed by the images, with one declaring that “no other sport comes close”, a reference to football uniting people around the world.

He followed superstar Lionel Messi guiding La Albiceleste to glory in Qatar after a penalty shootout.
Tibetan monks dedicate their lives to prayer and service to others.
Part of the Buddhist faith, its leader is the Dalai Lama, with a strong emphasis on reincarnation.
