Queensland police officers shot dead by conspiracy theorists at a rural property to be honored in a funeral today

Thousands of police officers, friends and family will gather on Wednesday to honor the two brave Queensland police officers who were tragically shot on a rural property.

Officers Matthew Arnold, 26, and Rachel McCrow, 29, were shot dead by former school principal Nathaniel Train, his brother Gareth and his wife Stacey, on Train’s rural property in Wieambilla, three hours a day. West Brisbane, last week.

Neighbor Alan Dare was also killed, while fellow officers Keely Brough and Randall Kirk made it out alive.

Later, the trains were shot dead by police after engaging them in a shootout.

A state funeral with full police honors for Constables Arnold and McCrow will be held at the Brisbane Entertainment Center at 10am Queensland time.

Matthew Arnold, 26, was killed upon arrival at the property.

Rachel McCrow, 29, was also shot and killed on arrival at the Wieambilla property.

Around 8,000 people are expected to attend the funeral under tight security that includes a strict rule not to film family members of slain police officers.

Free tickets were made available for those who wish to attend on Monday and the service will also be broadcast on television.

After the ceremony, mounted police, members of the dog squad, a police drum and pipe band, and officers in police cars and on motorcycles will form an honor guard in the street.

Private funeral ceremonies will be held for each of the McCrow and Arnold families after the public memorial.

Queensland Police Commissioner Katrina Carroll called the attack an “unimaginable tragedy”.

‘Both under 30 years of age. They both had wonderful careers and lives ahead of them.

Agent Arnold’s triplet sister, Hayley, said she had felt “heartbreaking physical pain” since being told he had been murdered.

Agent Rachel McCrow was a beautiful person and a kind soul, her former partner said.

“There are no words to express our loss,” Arnold wrote on social media.

‘I can’t begin to explain the love and bond we had. As triplets, we were born together and destined to grow old together.

Agent McCrow’s ex-partner, Luke, told the local Country Caller newspaper that he “would do anything for you”.

“I’m absolutely gutted and I’m not just speaking for myself, but I’m speaking for everyone because Rachel was a beautiful person,” he said.

You can’t take that away from her and she just didn’t deserve this at all.

“She was always there to listen, always there to have fun, just a really kind soul and just her as a person in general, I think she’s hard to find.”
