Matt Le Tissier gave Jamie Carragher and Gary Lineker a jab while appearing on a chat show with Ray Parlor and Alan Brazil.
The former Southampton captain accused Carragher of “spitting bile over the phone” after the two had a heated phone conversation a few weeks ago.
Le Tissier, who was sacked by Sky Sports in August 2020, said in June he could not understand why the television sacked him and kept Carragher after his spitting incident in 2018.

During Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United in March of that year, Carragher spat at a car after being goaded by a fan while a 14-year-old girl was in the passenger seat.
As a result, the former England international was suspended by Sky Sports for the remainder of the season, but he kept his job, which subsequently irritated Le Tissier.
The 54-year-old claimed he was fired for “being a middle-aged white guy” and questioned why Carragher was allowed to keep his job after spitting on a child.

Le Tissier told Parlor and Brazil the pub talk that the Liverpool legend called him in a frenzy, furious that he had referenced the incident.
“I don’t think he’s told this to anyone, but I got a phone call about six weeks ago from Jamie Carragher, because I dared to mention that he kept his job after spitting on a child,” he said.
He wasn’t too happy about it so he called me and then spent a good 10 minutes spitting bile into the phone. He was absolutely furious.
The former Southampton star also dismissed Lineker as “a very special human being”.
He said that he had embarrassed him and his family by bringing it up. At that point I said, “Jamie, I think the fact that you spit [at the girl] it’s probably more embarrassing, so you need to own up to what you did, and if someone talks about it, tough. Because you did it.”‘
Since being dropped from Sky Sports’ flagship weekend show Soccer Saturday, Le Tissier has claimed he was removed due to his controversial views on lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The former Saints star questioned in September 2021 why society’s response to influenza was not as rigorous as it was with the coronavirus, proposing that the flu has a “Covid-like death rate.”
Linker responded to Le Tissier’s claims that society did not try as hard as it could to ‘defeat’ the flu.
Lineker took to social media to shut down his views, responding, “Yeah Matt, why didn’t someone come up with a flu shot?”
Referring to the spat on Twitter, Le Tissier said: ‘Yeah, Gary was one of those blue tics I talked about earlier who like to jump on everything I say. But you know, Gary is a very special human being, he has never done anything wrong in his life.
‘(The dispute was about) opinions, he’s on the left side of the left on the political spectrum, and I’m more in the middle, and maybe skew slightly to the right, although there are some things left in the that I would agree. with.’
