Teen found dead after going missing while swimming with friends
A body has been found in the search for a missing teenager who went missing while swimming in a river in north-west Sydney on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old boy disappeared around 12 p.m. Wednesday while in the water at Windsor Beach on the Hawkesbury River.
A body, believed to be that of the boy, was discovered around 4:20pm, NSW Police said.
“The body has yet to be formally identified but is believed to be that of the missing child,” a police spokesman said.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner’s information.
The search involved specialists from PolAir, police divers, NSW SES and the Toll NSW Ambulance Aeromedical service.
