A Miami firefighter has been fired after beating a shirtless and drugged man at a hospital.

Surveillance footage from Oct. 15 at Jackson Memorial Hospital showed Antonio Cruz, 29, lying on a gurney before leaning over to spit at lifeguard Robert Webster.

Webster picked up Cruz in the Allapattah area of Miami after receiving a call about a man on cocaine. Cruz had been arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment.

While the video does not come with sound, WSVN reported that Cruz was handcuffed to the gurney and was yelling at first responders before spitting directly in Webster’s face.

Webster reacted instantly and began throwing punches at Cruz as others tried to pull him away from the 29-year-old.
