Chelsea’s Armando Broja will miss the rest of the season after picking up a knee injury in a mid-season friendly against Aston Villa.
The Albanian striker suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the match, which saw the Blues succumb to a 1-0 defeat at Unai Emery’s side, and will be out at least until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
Broja was withdrawn in the 24th minute of the match, played in Abu Dhabi, leaving Graham Potter with few options at the helm heading into the January transfer window.
