Dua Lipa announced for next summer’s Hay Festival with author Margaret Atwood and The Proclaimers

Dua Lipa has been announced for next summer’s Hay Festival alongside author Margaret Atwood and The Proclaimers.

The 27-year-old singer, who delivered the keynote address at this year’s Booker Prize ceremony, will record her podcast, Dua Lipa: At Your Service, at the 36th edition of the literary event in Hay-on-Wye, Wales.

Speaking with Olympian Mo Farah, Schitt’s Creek’s Dan Levy and Trevor Noah as part of his series of interviews on Monday, he confirmed his appearance.

Dua revealed: ‘I’ve wanted to explore Hay’s bookstores and experience the literary atmosphere of Hay Festival for a long time.

“So I’m thrilled to be there next year to share stories on and off the stage with some of my favorite authors, and to soak up the inspiration alongside my fellow book lovers.”

Dua will be joined by Margaret, 83, a two-time Booker Prize winner, who will tell the audience about her collection of short stories, Old Babes In The Wood.

His works, The Handmaid’s Tale and Alias ​​Grace have been made into critically acclaimed television series.

Elsewhere, Scottish rock duo The Proclaimers will perform as part of music, comedy and spoken word events.

Broadcaster Sir Michael Parkinson, 87, will share his sports writing on My Sporting Life: Memories, Moments And Declarations.

Alexander McCall Smith, philosopher AC Grayling, broadcaster Jon Snow, journalist Misha Glenny and historian David Olusoga are also among the announced authors.

Hay Festival chief executive Julie Finch said: ‘[The festival] it’s for everyone and next spring’s offering of broad and inclusive programming, an expanded family offering and even more free activities in and around the festival village will underscore that even more to reach the widest possible audience.’

The full Hay Festival 2023 program will be revealed in early spring with The event will take place from May 25 to June 4 and general sale tickets will be on sale starting at 12:00 noon on December 16.

The announcement comes after Dua looked sensational when she stormed onto the stage at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard at London’s O2 Arena on Sunday.

The singer donned a sparkly purple mini dress for her performance while entertaining thousands of screaming fans.

The physical hitmaker completed the look with a pair of fishnet stockings and danced up a storm in matching purple ankle boots.

Dua oozed confidence on stage and was joined by a host of other dancers who dressed in colour-coordinated outfits.
