‘Go play FIFA!’: Footage shows Sergio Aguero telling Holland’s Wout Weghorst to ‘SHUT UP’

Shocking footage has revealed the moment retired star Sergio Aguero told Dutchman Wout Weghorst to “shut up” in a heated encounter.

There was plenty of drama throughout the match, as Argentina booked their place in the World Cup semi-finals by beating the Dutch on penalties, before Aguero clashed with two-goal hero Weghorst.

The duo went head-to-head in the tunnel after the match before Aguero taunted the Netherlands for the loss with a series of social media posts that evening.

The retired Argentine star was on hand to show his support for his team in the quarterfinal match.

Tensions were high after Argentina secured a penalty shootout victory after drawing 2-2 after extra time, before footage showed the two colliding.

In the clip, the Dutch striker is seen standing in the tunnel, apparently waiting for someone, before Agüero enters the box and starts yelling: “Shut up!”

Weghorst was taken aback by the withdrawn star’s instructions and quickly barked at it. He claimed that he was waiting to shake hands with someone, probably a player from Argentina or a match referee.

The Argentine duo Lisandro Martínez and Lautaro Martínez intervened and tried to smooth the situation before Agüero was removed.

Even after the tunnel clash, Agüero refused to let go of the result, taking to social media to post a series of tweets mocking the Netherlands after their defeat.

A viral image showed the Dutch team dejected after their loss on penalties, with the Argentina players shouting with joy, to which Agüero reposted it with the caption: ‘Go play FIFA’.

Another clip showed Lionel Messi confronting Weghorst during their post-match interview, which Aguero jokingly captioned: “When they look at your girl” with a couple of laughing emojis.

He shared another joyous message when a fan asked how his heart was feeling, since it was withdrawn due to a heart condition, to which he replied, “The doctor texted me multiple times so go figure.”

Aguero produced a series of tweets that seemed to mock the Netherlands after the quarterfinal loss.

The quarterfinal clash was filled with drama as the two sets of players clashed numerous times during the game.

Argentina took a two-goal lead before Netherlands’ Weghorst scored a late brace to level the score in the dying moments of the game.

At this point, the game erupted beyond the referee’s control as a series of fights began to develop on the field.
