‘My working day consists of performing dialysis on patients with end-stage renal failure. Establish your treatment plan, manage any changes throughout your treatment. I work 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime,’ he said.

‘Best rates are in WA, then NT, then QLD. With my agency, we have fixed rates. They have increased recently due to the rising cost of living.

“However, some agencies make special deals on their rates when they’re super desperate.”

Ms Starling revealed that she worked on a dialysis treatment before transitioning into her role as a travel nurse.

‘I went into my job because I had a background in dialysis and then applied to an agency. This agency offers contracts to work throughout Australia.

‘So far I have worked in Derby, Tennant Creek, Cairns, Townsville and Ingham.

‘The disadvantage of this type of work is being away from family and friends and not having any real stability. Homesickness is very hard, but I also meet a lot of amazing people and it’s a great way to save money when you’re young.’

Responding to comments on her TikTok video, she said she took a ‘kick a**’ vacation after 12 weeks in Tennant Creek.

He also noted that he received no sick pay or any other benefits, “just really high pay.”

Ms Starling said she wanted to be transparent about salary, adding: “It’s very important to know these things before you go into debt for a degree.”

‘Gain experience in your field and apply through an agency.

‘The first thing you need to do in Australia is to get a diploma or degree in nursing.

‘Then you need to get a minimum of two years experience in a specific area of nursing.

‘Now, there are two different ways of doing agency work. You can take a turn here and there or you can make contracts, which is what I do.

‘So to do a shift here and there through an agency, you just put in a normal application and then, generally speaking, you’ll get a text the day before or in the morning and be asked to do a shift in town or city. that you live

‘If you do it the way I’m doing it, which is where you do contracts, you’ll work from four weeks to 12 weeks, or they may ask you to spread out a bit longer. Generally speaking, it won’t be in the same city or town you live in, it will be somewhere else in Australia and they will pay for your travel and accommodation.

‘It’s definitely a great way to travel and earn money and you get to see the amazing parts of Australia and meet the most amazing people. ‘
