A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after the body of a woman was found floating in Perth’s Fremantle harbor.

The body of Helen Jeremy Solomon Marsuk, 25, of Koongamia, was found in the water at Success Boat Harbor on Capo D’Orlando Drive in South Fremantle on Sunday morning.

Police divers remained at the scene for several days after the girl’s body was found submerged between boats.

A mobile phone, clothing and, bizarrely, a power cord were later recovered from the port.

The Gosnells man has been indicted on one count of murder.

The death of Ms Marsuk has shaken the Sudanese community in Perth as heartbroken friends and family paid tribute to a “beautiful and spiritual woman”.

Ms. Marsuk lived in Koongamia and worked as a housekeeper and commercial cleaner, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She also had a young son who was her ‘world’.

“She was such a beautiful person inside and out, her son was the most important thing to her and family always came first before anything and anyone,” a friend wrote.

Another added: “She was a lovely lady.”

A relative described the mother as a ‘beautiful young soul’ with an ‘infectious laugh’.

“She will be sorely missed by all of us,” they told Seven News.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

The man is due to appear at Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday.
