RICHARD EDEN: Harry and Meghan ‘are clearly targeting William and Kate Middleton’ in docuseries

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being “portrayed as victims” and are “clearly taking aim at the Prince and Princess of Wales” in their Netflix docuseries, The Mail’s Richard Eden said.
Speaking to Mail+, the expert said the second trailer for the six-part documentary, which was released today, is “a declaration of war against the Royal Family.”
In the new one-minute preview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex lash out at the “family hierarchy,” claiming insiders “leaked and planted” stories about them and describing real life as “foul play.”
Then, after the images of Princess Diana and Kate being harassed by photographers, talk about “the pain and suffering of women who marry in this institution.”

Commenting on the trailer, Eden says: “What we’re seeing are clear attempts to portray [Harry and Meghan] as victims, make sure Meghan is the new Diana figurehead.
“They are clearly targeting Prince William and Catherine with this pecking order talk,” he adds.
The expert says: ‘Let’s be clear. This is a declaration of war against the royal family. They even use the word war in this trailer.
“You have their powerful attorney Jenny Afia of Schillings, who uses this war of words, and it’s clear that’s what they’re after,” he says.
Speaking to Mail+, the royal expert (pictured) said: “If you thought the latest trailer was bad, just wait until you’ve seen this one.”
The second clip featured the couple’s lawyer alongside a host of images, including some of Princess Diana.
Eden says, “If you thought the first trailer was bad, wait until you see this one.”
He went on to explain that Prince William and Kate’s friends told him they were “grossed out” by the first trailer.
He says, “It looks to me like this trailer ties into the first three episodes, which are airing this Thursday, and I feel like they’re getting way behind schedule for the next three the following week.” It terrifies me to think what’s in them.
During this second trailer, Meghan’s lawyer, Jenny Afia (pictured) of Schillings, uses the word war.

Eden went on to say that Harry and Meghan, who reside in Montecito, California, have to “acknowledge that they got some very generous favorable coverage” about their wedding and before.
In this trailer, the couple reference this positive coverage and even have Piers Morgan’s comment on the voiceover welcoming Meghan to the royal family.
However, Eden shares her surprise that after this they jump straight to mentioning the hierarchy of the Royal Family.
He notes: “They mean that Prince William is the heir to the throne and is above Prince Harry in the line of succession.” They are clearly targeting Prince William and Catherine with this pecking order talk.

Prince Harry has criticized the “pain and suffering of women who get married in the institution” in the latest trailer for his new Netflix series.
This afternoon, the streaming platform released a second trailer for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new series and confirmed that the first episodes of the TV special will premiere on Thursday.
In a clip from the series, the father of two talks about how life within the company can be “dirty play.”
As Prince Harry reflects on his experience as a royal, the trailer jumps to an undated clip of Princess Diana in a royal engagement where she takes on the world press.
The new Netflix trailer used video footage of the Princess of Wales (pictured in 2007) outside her Chelsea home before she married into the Royal Family.
As the video plays on the screen, Harry comments, “The pain and suffering of women getting married in this institution, this feeding frenzy.” Nobody knows the whole truth. We know the whole truth.
The producers then used a split-second clip of the Princess of Wales outside her Chelsea flat in 2007.
The future royal, who worked as an accessories buyer at fashion brand Jigsaw, is seen walking down the street in front of her home surrounded by photographers.
The then 25-year-old had been in a relationship with Prince William for seven years at the time the video was taken.
They made similar claims during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
However, Eden says that this is ‘just not true’ and describes why she can say so with confidence.
“How do I know the stories against them weren’t leaked?” he says. “Because I was the first to publish a negative story about Harry and Meghan, which was the departure of Meghan’s assistant, Melissa, who had been key in helping to organize the wedding.”
He ends by referring to the opinion of the British public: “What we are seeing are clear attempts to portray them as victims, make sure Meghan is the new figure of Diana.”

Today, the streaming giant confirmed that volume one will be released on December 8, exactly three months after the death of Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, while volume two will be released on December 15, shocking with the Princess of Wales’s carol service.
The sneak peek opens with a scene of Harry and Meghan in a car, apparently in America, as the duke says: “It’s really hard to look back now and say ‘what happened?’
As videos of the couple announcing their engagement and 2018 wedding play, a voiceover from a Piers Morgan news clip says, “He’s becoming a real rock star.”
Another scene of the Sussexes on a royal promenade plays as an audience member yells ‘Meghan, we love you!’
It cuts to Meghan saying ‘and then’ before snapping her fingers and Harry adds: ‘Everything changed’.
A photo of the royal family is shown at Trooping the Color in 2019, including William, Catherine, Charles and Camilla, while Harry narrates: “There’s a hierarchy in the family, you know, there are leaks, but there are also stories planted.” It’s a dirty game.
The couple’s lawyer, Jenny Afia, tells the camera: “There was a war against Meghan to support other people’s agendas” before Christopher Bouzy, a tech entrepreneur and longtime supporter of the couple, says: “It’s about hate, it’s about race.” .
Clips of paparazzi photographing the couple are compared to old images of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, followed by the media.
