The mom (pictured) shared four rules she plans to follow while raising her son, including swearing around him and teaching him there are only two genders.
First, she said she plans to raise her four-month-old son “like a kid because that’s what he is.”
He also said that he will continue to use bad language with his son.
“I won’t stop cursing around you, it’s just words,” Mrs. Barry said.
She added that her son will learn that “these are not nice words to use or call other people.”
“You will be taught to treat others the way you want to be treated,” he added.
Ms. Barry’s final rule was that she will not teach him about gender identity.
‘He will be taught that they are only two genders.’
“No one is going to make me change my mind,” he said.
Reaction to the video was divided: many people agreed with the mother, but others thought she was limiting her son’s mindset.
“With the swearing thing, I’d just make sure they know there are bad words and only adults can say them, but honestly I’m all for it,” said one woman.
The young woman (in the photo with her partner) had her son Levi during the summer and often posts on her social media account about her life as a mother.
‘I could not agree more. I am afraid for the world my children have to grow up in now,” said another.
One man suggested that the mother should let her son “have his own opinions.”
“Personally, I would let my son express himself however he wanted,” a woman agreed.
“I think as long as you teach him to be kind to others and to be accepting of others and differences, then everything is fine,” said another woman.
The woman suggested that the mother’s plans limit gender expression and exclude those who are not binary from the child’s mindset.
The young mother has uploaded several videos about gender identity, recently claiming she was called a ‘transphobic’ for planning to raise Levi with a boy.
Some people sympathized with the mother, however, others accused her of making up the story.
“No one is saying this,” said one man.
‘Never happened,’ wrote another.
