Greenbank mauling: Two dogs seized after meter reader Kane Minion killed

Two dogs have been seized after a meter reader was mauled to death in a wild dog attack while on the job.
Kane Minion, 42, died when two dogs attacked him at a house on Ison Road in Greenbank, Queensland, at 10:45am on Saturday.
Emergency services found Mr Minion unconscious in the front yard of the property with serious injuries before dying at the scene.
Police found three dogs at the address, two of which were seized by the local council.

Kane Minion, 42, died when two dogs attacked him at a house on Ison Road in Greenbank, Queensland, at 10:45am on Saturday.
Mr. Minion, who had worked for Downer’s Skilltech for seven years and was working as a contractor for Energex at the time, was found in critical condition by police.
He died at the scene as a result of his injuries, despite the best efforts of paramedics.
The dog owners were not home at the time, with a sign outside their home reading: ‘Warning: Watchdogs on duty’.
Meter readers had visited the property several times in the past, and the dogs were usually kept behind a second fence.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal that Mr. Minion loved canines before he met his gruesome end and was to marry the love of his life, Toni Baird.
The 42-year-old had a picture of himself cuddling a Staffordshire Bull Terrier as his Facebook profile picture.
He had been engaged for less than a year to his partner, Ms. Baird, after proposing on December 24, and the couple were less than three weeks away from celebrating their first anniversary since their proposal.
Logan City Hall animal control officers seized a Bandog Bullmastiff and a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.
The dogs will remain in a council kennel while officers undergo an investigation into the incident.
A meter reader who was mauled by two dogs has been identified as a fiancé and canine lover as it was revealed that the Queensland property he was visiting at the time of the attack had a sign on its fence warning visitors about dangerous animals.

Acting Inspector Gary Worrell told reporters at the scene that the man was from the suburb of Marsden.
“This is also a difficult time for the owners of the residence, who are attached to their dogs,” said Acting Inspector Worrell.
Worksafe has been notified, while the police will prepare a report for the coroner.
A Downer Group spokesperson confirmed that Mr. Minion worked in the company’s Skilltech business.
“The details of the incident are still being examined and a police investigation is underway,” they said.

Police said Work Safe Australia had been notified, as the man was working in the Greenbank area at the time.
On Sunday, Queensland Police said investigations were ongoing while they prepared a coroner’s report.
The Logan City Council could not be reached for comment.
Greenbank is a rural suburb about 40 km south of Brisbane with a population of less than 10,000.
Ison Road contains multiple residential properties on large parcels of land.
