The Princess of Wales greeted her friendly welcome to Boston as she consoled emotional supporters outside Harvard University on Friday.
Kate Middleton, 40, visited the Center on the Developing Child in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the third day of her US tour with Prince William.
Royalty made the trip for the Earthshot Prize – an event created by William in 2020, celebrating five people for their contributions to the environment.
But earlier in the day, Kate made a solo visit to nearby Harvard University, where she was greeted by hundreds of excited supporters.

The Princess of Wales took the time to greet those who had waited in the cold to meet her, asking people their names before thanking them for their support.
In a clip from her tour posted to social media, Kate tells those hoping she’llso appreciate everyone who comes by to say hi…it means a lot.’
Kate then comforts an emotional supporter who says he’s studying British history, saying ‘don’t cry!’ before telling him, ‘Everyone in Boston has been so nice.’
She continues in line, thanking everyone for coming to meet her.

The mother-of-three looked elegant in a custom long-sleeved gown by Emilia Wickstead for the occasion, which she paired with black pumps and embellished gold hoop earrings by Daniella Draper.
The original gown costs $1,201 but doesn’t come with sleeves, so it looks like the Princess of Wales altered it.
Described as a “versatile dress that transitions effortlessly from office wear to event dressing with minimal effort” in its websitethe pencil dress features a ‘houndstooth print that accentuates the tailored fit of the piece’.

Later that day, Kate donned a rented dress from a brand called Solace London when she and Prince William attended the Earthshot Award ceremony in Boston.
