Cody Simpson has revealed how he prepares to sing in front of a live audience.
The 25-year-old singer-turned-swimmer took to Instagram on Wednesday with a video of himself doing vocal exercises in a locker room, ahead of singing the Australian national anthem on stage at an AFLW match.
Cody went shirtless in the video, flexing his rippling abs and biceps, while his swimming champion girlfriend Emma McKeon looked on lovingly.

Cody then showed the fans some of the food he was munching on ahead of his big performance, which included bananas, chips, and dipping sauce.
The Commonwealth Games gold medalist captioned the imagery with some thoughtful words: “There are parallels between warming up to sing and swimming a race.
“Here’s some annoying backstage footage before I sang the national anthem this week,” he cheekily added.

It wasn’t long before many of Cody’s 4.8 million followers were posting messages of support.
One of the fans said Cody was “an expert at lip twitches,” while another said they loved his fine crooning skills.
Cody and Emma started dating several months ago after Cody, a successful singer-songwriter, put off his music career to focus on competitive swimming.

The pair are said to have hit it off several months ago as training partners under weapons coach Michael Bohl.
Earlier this year, they found themselves in the midst of a rumored ‘love triangle’ at the Australian Championships in Adelaide.
There were reports that Kyle Chalmers deliberately bumped Simpson out of competing in the World Championships in the 100-meter butterfly by choosing to compete in the event.
However, Chalmers, who dated McKeon for several months in 2021, later disputed this, saying he had always intended to compete in that event.
