Multiple Connecticut fire departments battle a massive four-alarm blaze at the Seaport Marine in Mystic, Connecticut.

The fire broke out around 8:45 p.m. Sunday and burned large parts of Washington Street in the New England city.

According to reportsMore than 10 teams from nearby towns are currently responding to the blaze.

A local fire department confirmed that several buildings had caught fire during the inferno and some had collapsed.

A woman who is in the area reported hearing a “loud explosion” over Mystic River before coming out to discover the massive flames.

“We are fine and the fire department is working on it,” the woman captioned the video posted to Twitter late Sunday night.

According to EWeather, the fire was exacerbated by the weather conditions in the area.

“This video is insane with the mystical fire. It was so intense, fanned by those strong southerly winds, it’s spinning… like a dust devil or tornado. Unbelievable,” the Twitter account said as it shared video of firefighters battling the blaze.

The 23-second video shows a giant cloud of black smoke swirling in front of the flames blazing strong in the street.

One person who responded to the tweet said, “I live right next door to the building that is on fire and we all had to evacuate.”

Another Twitter user said, “My boat was parked in that building until about a year ago. They don’t store anything anymore. Virtually empty. Satisfying.’

A local business owner said he had employees call him to provide a grim update on the blaze.

Matt Beaudoin, the owner of Mystic Knotwork, shared FOS 61 he got the news that the street looked like “an inferno” after the fire broke out.

“I’m thankful that the fire was able to take care of the buildings,” he said.

The business owner also said that the Marine Seaport is considered the anchor of the city and an important part of the tourism industry.

The Salvation Army is also on site to help.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Stonington Police Deputy Chief Todd Olson said at around 10:30 p.m. there were no injuries.

According to Day, the fire is the biggest the downtown has seen in more than 22 years.
