Katie Price reportedly mourned the loss of her sixth pet on Friday after her beloved dog Sharon was killed when she reportedly escaped and ran into the road where she was hit by a car.

The pooch was recently pictured on the glamor model’s Instagram page lying next to the star.

Pomeranian Sharon was picked up by the driver of the A24 vehicle and taken to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Suffolk, where her death was confirmed, according to The sun.

A source close to the reality star — chihuahua owner Captain, Buddy, Colin and Batman, and watchdog Blade — told the publication it was “bad luck” that Sharon was hit and that Katie is “in pieces.”

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Katie and the vets for comment.

Katie’s dogs Rolo, Queenie and Sparkle have passed away in recent years, while she has also lost a pet chameleon and a beloved horse.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Katie was “devastated” after losing her pet Chihuahua Captain while on vacation, before being reunited with her dog.

The former glamor model lost the pup during a getaway to Sandbanks in Dorset with her on-off fiancé, Carl Woods, 32.

A source told The sun: “Katie was devastated. She thought the captain would be fine off the leash as they were staying on a friend’s private property, which was very safe, but he managed to run away.

“Katie was devastated because she thought she’d lost him for good, or he might get run over.”

After eight hours of searching, the former Celebrity Big Brother housemate received a call that Captain had been found.

The pup was taken to a local vet and they were able to identify him through his microchip.

Katie has come under fire in the past after a Change.Org petition gained support in an attempt to ban her from keeping any more animals. At the time of writing, there were more than 24,500 signatures.

The former Celebrity Big Brother housemate previously faced criticism from animal welfare groups in November 2021 after being given watchdog Okra following an incident in which her dog Rolo choked to death at her home, while her Alsatian Sparkle was mowed down in February 2020, in shocking echoes of the death of her dog Queenie, who was killed in 2018.

Katie later revealed her shock after being illegally advised to give cannabis oil to her deceased puppy Rolo before he “choked to death in an armchair.”

The late French Bulldog, who was bought as a gift for her daughter Princess on her 13th birthday, fell asleep under an electric chair after having the non-psychoactive cannabis derivative, and later “suffocated” when the family’s nanny sat on the chair sat down.

Shortly after this incident, which took place in 2019, the petition was launched.

Katie told the Mirror she was unaware that it is illegal to give dogs the substance without a vet’s prescription, in accordance with the Veterinary Medicines Regulation 2013.

The description of the petition read: ‘A puppy has died in the care of Katie Price in the last 24 hours. She bought this puppy three weeks ago for her 13-year-old child. Who died in an accident that no one witnessed.

‘Over the past 5 years, more animals have died due to lack of care. Horses, dogs. cats, lizards, hedgehogs. This is not some family tragedy. It’s normal at Katie Price Home. 2 dogs have been hit.

It continues: ‘Puppies were found drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was hit on a highway.

“Animals just disappear into her house never to be seen again. Her guard dog broke into her neighbor’s yard and killed their chickens.’

Clothes are dumped everywhere. Alger grows up in her pool where her puppy drowned. She jokes about her filthy mansion.

“But it’s no joke that animals are dying because of her lack of care. Being left alone to meet an untimely death and no one says enough is enough and continues to sell her animals.

“Three weeks ago, the bulldog puppy named Rolo was in her care. No one knows, including them, how it died. We have to stop this now that no more animals have to die.’

MailOnline reached out to Katie’s representatives for comment at the time.

Rolo’s death came just months after the tragic death of her Alsatian Sparkle when she ran onto a busy road outside her previous home.

One of Katie’s horses was killed on the same road, the A24 in Sussex, in 2017 after escaping from a field.

In the same year, Katie’s chameleon Marvin died of a “broken heart” when her children Junior and Princess went to stay with their father, her ex Peter Andre.

Katie faced another tragedy in 2018 when her Alsatian Queenie was hit and killed by a delivery boy.

The star took to Instagram to pay tribute to her one-year-old German Shepherd, gifted to her by then-husband Kieran Hayler in 2016.

She wrote: “I am absolutely devastated, heartbroken, my faithful, loving family dogs Queenie’s life has been cut short when she was killed by a heartless delivery driver who ran into our dog when he saw her struggle and drove off without telling us and her left very disappointed to die so heartless can a man be! (sic)’

Katie also had to give away her Alsatian bear after it repeatedly attacked other animals.
