This is the hilarious moment when a groom-to-be was forced to scuba dive after accidentally dropping his lover’s engagement ring into the ocean.
The clip shows Sarasota man Scott Clyne, 35, trying to propose to his girlfriend, Suzie Tucker, 32, on Nov. 12 while aboard a small boat with two friends in Florida.
At the time of writing, the video has received nearly eight million views on TikTok, received 1.5 million likes, and generated more than 3,000 comments.
The original video was dubbed with the 2003 Snoop Dogg hit Drop it Like It’s Hot, an obvious reference to the ring.
You can see him preparing to go on bended knee before messing with the ring box and dropping it into the sea.
Despite the drama and being a little wet, Scott Clyne’s fiancée Suzie said, “Yeah!”

Clyne wrote in the caption, “Drop the ring into the wave during my proposal.” The video shows Tucker and the couple’s friends collapsing in hysterics as he falls into the water while retrieving the rock.
He described himself as entering “full panic mode” when faced with the possibility of the ring ending up in Davy Jones’ locker.
While things don’t quite go according to plan, the video at least has a happy ending with Clyne telling the audience, “She still said yes.”

He said the couple actually met aboard a boat with friends in the coastal community of Englewood, Florida.
“We absolutely love boating and I can’t imagine any other way. The proposal was in Sarasota Bay and I planned the whole night as a sunset boat ride and for us to have dinner on the water,” Clyne said.
“I planned for two of our best friends to be with us so they could have a ‘Will you marry me?’ banner and throw rose petals on the bow while pretending to take pictures,” he added.
“I had the ring in my back pocket and when I reached for it, the corner of the ring box got caught in the top of my pocket and slipped out of my hands and bounced in the water.”
He added, “Everything was a blur after that. I panicked and reacted by jumping to the ring box before it could sink, not caring if I fell into the water. Luckily I was able to find the ring!’

Clyne continued, “I honestly hovered in amazement for a few seconds as I tried to process what had just happened. Determined to finish what I started, I swam back onto the boat and finished my proposal soaking wet. It was quite a hysterical/scary moment and something we will never forget. I even had to eat in wet clothes that night because I didn’t bring an extra pair.’
Among the thousands of commenters was the Carolina Panthers’ official TikTok account asking, “Did he find it?”
Clyne replied by saying, ‘My own fumble recovered! Let me know if you need a WR!’
Another commenter said, “This is actually such a perfect engagement.”
In another video, Clyne is seen getting back on the boat with Tucker still laughing uncontrollably. He writes in the caption, “Saved the ring and went back to redemption.”
On his Facebook page, Clyne posted the video with the caption, “This is 100% real. 100% my luck. 100% will never forget….”
It’s not clear if Clyne and Tucker have set a date.
