Olivia and Alex Bowen have revealed they’d be thrilled if their baby boy Abel goes to Love Island when he grows up – but admitted they won’t tune in.

The reality star, 28, and her partner, 31, who finished runner-up on the 2016 ITV2 show, welcomed their first child, aged five months, in June 2022.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline at The Sun’s Who Cares Wins Awards on Tuesday, Alex initially said it was ‘impossible’ for him to have their little one appear on the program that made them famous.

But Olivia was quick to add, “He could go to Love Island, but we might not look at it the way my dad didn’t look at me.” I’d probably be the same.’

When asked what they’ve learned about themselves since becoming parents, she replied, “That I’m impatient!

“I think we were always pretty used to doing everything we wanted to do right away and you could always you know, go out, you didn’t have to plan too much, but now it literally takes half an hour to get out the door door.

“There are just a lot of differences. Like, now that you’re older, you don’t come first. You have to be so selfless, which is great. It has taught us a lot.’

The event celebrates dedicated health workers and while discussing how the NHS has helped her, the influencer continued: ‘We recently had our baby boy and it was probably one of the scariest things we’ve experienced, but the midwives were just incredible.

‘Everyone was there for you. We met so many people and everyone just looked after you in such a great way. And I honestly couldn’t thank them enough for getting my little boy safely here.

Earlier this month, Olivia said she feels like an “alien” in her own body four months after giving birth to her first child.

The star spoke to MailOnline about how she coped with postpartum body confidence and how Alex, 31, was a “punching bag” during emotional moments.

Olivia’s comments come after new mom Chloe Madeley admitted she can’t imagine ever “feeling sexy again,” and while she doesn’t feel herself in her body right now, Olivia insisted she’ll feel sexy again in the future.

Olivia said she was having a hard time getting to grips with her new body, admitting she’s a “very different Olivia” from the one she once was before giving birth.

Discussing Chloe’s experience, she said, “Better luck for her if she comes out with a body that bangs like that and you want to show it off.” Go for it, I just think it’s a hard thing, because some women find it so hard afterwards.’

“Also for me I feel very strange in my body, I feel very different. At the same time, I know that I will feel 100 percent sexy again.

‘Because I know that feeling sexy and confident comes from within, not what you look like or what body shape you have.

“It’s all related to the person having the emotions. On her behalf, she shouldn’t be able to feel like herself and I totally agree with that.”

“When I had Abel I didn’t feel like myself, I felt like a different version of myself and I think you’re kind of in a daze when you have a baby so you don’t really know how to feel.

“She only had the baby a few weeks ago, her hormones are still raging, you can’t really attack a woman for how she feels, it doesn’t matter if it’s not how you feel, we’re all going to feel different opposite it.’
