A painful defeat in more ways than one, Cheikhou? Kouyate is hit in the genitals by Dutchman Frenkie de Jong during their World Cup match – resulting in the Senegalese midfielder having to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher and substituted!
Cheikhou Kouyate couldn’t have hoped for a worse start to his World Cup when the Senegalese star was forced off the field after a freak incident involving Frenkie de Jong.
As the two struggled for the ball, De Jong began to fall to the ground and eventually tried to grab onto the worst possible area as he did.
Kouyate was clearly in a lot of pain and the stretcher had to come to take him out of the game.

To make matters worse, Senegal lost 2-0 to the Netherlands due to late goals from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen.
