Aston Villa duo Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann have reportedly split after almost a year of dating.

The Villans couple had been in a relationship since the beginning of the year, which they made public via social media at the time. They posted the same photo of them kissing with the caption, “I love you.”

However, their love was short-lived as the duo have now split up. Lehmann – a WSL star – recently did a raunchy calendar shoot that has reportedly caused problems between them.

According to the sunBrazilian star Luiz was supposedly unbothered by his partner’s decision to take part in the photoshoot – which ended up being the breaking point for their relationship.

A source told the outlet, “Douglas was totally in love with Alisha. When she first arrived he was like ‘Who is this girl?’ He quickly asked her out and they became a soccer power couple.

“They were so loved, but unfortunately, as Alisha became more in demand off the field, the cracks in their relationship started to appear. When she was asked to make a calendar, she jumped at the chance to show her sexy side, but he wasn’t happy.

“He didn’t think it was something she should do. They rowed a lot and eventually Alisha just had enough.’

Last week, Lehmann shared photos of her upcoming calendar on social media. The Villa star was dressed in a tight all-black bodysuit as she posed on a couch.

Last month, Luiz broke out with a TV host in Brazil after he posted a video seemingly objectifying Lehmann.

Milton Neves, a 71-year-old presenter, angered Luiz when he tweeted a clip of Lehmann celebrating a goal by jumping and turning his back on her.

The video, shared on social media, appears to zoom in on her backside during a goal celebration and ends with the question, “Without rewinding the video what number was on her shirt?”

Neves posted the video with the caption “watch and comment,” prompting an angry response from Luiz. He has since deleted the Tweet.

“You are old, you have been in football for years and you post a video that shows no respect for women’s football or the player herself, who is also my girlfriend,” Luiz said on Twitter.

Lehmann was previously in a relationship with Chelsea woman player Ramona Bachmann, who also plays for the Swiss team.

They were even featured together in a BBC Three documentary in 2019, talking about the dynamics of playing for rival teams in the same league.

Lehmann told Chelsea ahead of the game against West Ham: “She’s really good, technical and fast. I’m a little nervous, but I think it’s going to be a good game. If she scores, I’ll feel really bad!’

The 24-year-old Luiz has been playing at Villa since 2019 and is an international from Brazil. He was the subject of a £35 million bid from Arsenal on transfer deadline day earlier this month.

He had a mixed start to the campaign, playing more of a supporting role under boss Steven Gerrard and now Unai Emery.
