Chris Brown Claims He Was Going To Give A Michael Jackson Tribute At The AMAs ‘But They Canceled Me For Reasons Unknown’
Chris Brown has claimed he would pay tribute to Michael Jackson at this weekend’s American Music Awards, but that was scrapped at the last minute.
The 33-year-old singer, who is infamous for beating up Rihanna when they were dating, claimed he was not given any reason for the decision.
He fired up his Instagram and posted a long string of rehearsal footage where he could be seen channeling some distinctly Michael Jackson-esque moves.

“SHOULD have been the ama performance but they canceled on me for unknown reasons,” he said angrily in the comments. His caption was simply, “ARE YOU SERIOUS?”
The footage he posted showed a group of female backup dancers swirling around him as they worked their way through their strenuous choreography.
They played a daring medley with Michael’s hits Beat It, Billie Jean, Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ and Thriller.
All four tracks were taken from Michael’s legendary 1982 album Thriller, due out 40 years ago this month.

In recent years, however, Michael’s legacy has come under the shadow of renewed allegations that he molested children, especially after two accusers starred in the 2019 HBO docuseries Leaving Neverland on the subject.
In 2009, four years after he rose to fame, Chris notoriously beat up his then-girlfriend Rihanna to the point that she had to be hospitalized.
That year, at the age of 50, Michael died of cardiac arrest after taking propofol as a sleep aid.
A year later, Chris starred in a Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards, where he was also nominated for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.

In the dark: Chris, who is notorious for beating up Rihanna when they were dating, claimed he was not given a reason for the decision to cancel his performance
Rihanna shocked the public when she briefly got back together with Chris, a decision she explained years later by telling Vanity purse: ‘I was that girl.’
She described herself as a “girl who felt that as painful as this relationship is, some people may be built stronger than others.” Maybe I’m one of those people made to deal with shit like this.’
Meanwhile, Chris went on a date with model and actress Karrueche Tran, who filed a restraining order against him in 2017.
Chris, whom Karrueche accused of threatening and physically assaulting her, was temporarily banned by the order from coming within 100 yards of her.
