Dating Expert: The One Texting Habit Nearly All Women Do That Men Hate — And Other Messaging That Matters To Both Sexes Must Stop Now

  • Sending messages line by line instead of one big chunk is annoying for men
  • Dating expert Louanne Ward said the simple habit comes across as controlling
  • She also shared the other posts about messages for both men and women in text messages
  • Men don’t like women sending too many emojis or asking trivial questions
  • Women don’t like men leaving them unread or read and answering with one word

If you ever write down a message line by line instead of sending it all together as one big piece, you’re guilty of a texting habit that men hate the most, a leading dating expert has revealed.

Relationship expert and matchmaker Louanne Wardfrom Perth, said this approach annoys men for a number of reasons, including that it can feel controlling and embarrassing if their phone keeps flashing or beeping.

“The main reason men don’t like it is that it can feel like control. The woman does the initiation and sets the pace and tone of the conversation,” Louanne told FEMAIL.

Men also feel obligated to respond to every message or risk being “accused of not responding” to any or all elements.

“Many don’t like the sound of repeated notifications, which can be both annoying and embarrassing,” said Louanne.

The matchmaker explained that when you send a message in multiple parts, men feel like the conversation has become “fragmented” or inconsistent.

“They may have to go back and re-read it several times to answer it, so it takes twice as long,” she said.

Because men don’t naturally spend as much time communicating over text, she added that it can feel like “pressure or dominance” to them.

But why do we as women like to send messages this way so often?

According to Louanne, the main reason is that we don’t like to be ignored.

“We’re taking the opportunity to get out as much as we can when we know a guy is on his device, whereas if we send a long message, he could disappear,” she said.

This tactic is often used because women are looking for instant answers.

What Women Hate in Men’s Posts

* Being left unread (especially if they see the man online).

* Will be read and not answered.

* One or two word answers.

* Being asked for naked and sexy pictures all the time.

* Inconsistency.

* Unsolicited di*k photos will be sent.

* Only being told “I love you” via text message, not in person.

* Getting dumped via text message.

* Get answered with just an emoji or start/have conversations with emojis and not words.

* Being gaslighted or called the wrong name.

* Prematurely called ‘sweetie’, ‘darling’, ‘sweetheart’, ‘darling’ etc.

* Explicit inappropriate sex talk.

* Vague messages.

* Sarcastic messages that can be taken in two ways.

What Men Hate in Women’s Posts

* Pinged small liner messages like a machine gun one after another that are all part of the same message.

* Exhaustingly long messages are sent expecting equally long replies.

* Will be told in a text message.

* Talk about serious matters and don’t stop.

* Being accused of not replying to a message when they are busy or away from their phone.

* Receive messages throughout the day with trivial questions like ‘how’s your day going?’ or “what are you up to?” and expect responses.

* They can’t help nagging or negative conversation.

* The question is ‘What should I wear’.

* Fighting or picking a fight.

* Too many emojis.

Texting line by line isn’t the only messaging habit women have that men hate, Louanne said.

She also stressed texting and asking trivial questions like “how’s your day going?” and using too many emojis as habits that drive men crazy.

On the other hand, Louanne said women hate it when men leave them unread, with one- or two-word replies and sarcastic messages that can be read two ways.

“Vague messages that skip a question are a big no-no from women, which men sometimes do,” she said.

For example, a woman might ask “are we catching up tomorrow?” and a man will answer, ‘I will try’.

“It’s not a clear yes or no and leave a woman hanging,” Louanne said.
