The disorder is sometimes associated with people who swear and use offensive language, but only a small number of patients have this particular tic.

Jack, who won Australia’s Got Talent as a teenager, said trolls had said “nasty things” about the way he sometimes “tricked” his fingers.

He said Gilles de la Tourette affected his hand, speech and facial movements, and he was first diagnosed with the condition at the age of seven.

At the same time, he was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Characterized by “unwanted thoughts and fears,” OCD can lead sufferers to become obsessed with compulsive activities and rituals.

Jack discussed both conditions in a video on his Instagram Stories, saying that both his Tourette’s and OCD had diminished over the years.

But if he’s in a situation where he’s nervous, his hands can still shake.

He begged fans to understand his condition and said to “just deal with it” if they ever see his hand twitch.

“I look back at some of those videos and say, ‘Jack, f**k! Stop moving your hands!'” he added, referring to his recent Studio 10 performance.
