A speeding car slammed into a 12-year-old boy after he ran a red light, in gruesome footage captured on camera before the driver fled.
The boy was cycling with his brother and father when he was struck by a car on Kessels Road, near Macgregor, south Brisbane at around 12:05 a.m. on Thursday.
CCTV footage from a nearby business captured the trio crossing the road at a traffic light at a busy intersection before disappearing from view behind a large sign.

A green Holden Commodore then slams into the boy, with footage of a bicycle being flung through the air and losing its front tire.
A utility pole crashes before the father and brother come to the boy’s aid amidst the chaos.
The driver is seen running past the boy lying on the side of the footpath, while his suspected passenger runs off in another direction.
According to police, the driver was behind the wheel of an unregistered vehicle in the run-up to the accident and fled through a nearby shopping mall.
Before the crash, officers had turned on their vehicle’s lights and followed the car in an attempt to intercept it.
However, the green Holden Commodore is said to have quickly driven away before running a red light and mowing down the boy.
Police have continued their search for the driver, in his 20s, and his alleged passenger (pictured).
The boy was taken to hospital with multiple fractures and head injuries.
His condition is serious but stable.
