Cristiano Ronaldo has praised former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, claiming he had ‘done a good job and needed more time’.
Ronaldo has made headlines this past week following the release of his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV.
During the controversial sit-down with Morgan, Ronaldo criticized the current state of the club along with heavy criticism of United manager Erik ten Hag and former teammates including Gary Neville and Rooney.

However, he also touched on a number of wide-ranging issues, including the topic of his former boss Solskjaer.
After signing Ronaldo last summer in the hopes of the Portuguese superstar taking United to greater heights, the Norwegian was sacked after a poor start to the season.
United were in seventh place at the time with 17 points from 12 games, ending Solskjaer’s reign that lasted just under three years.
And in the first part of the interview released on Wednesday, Ronaldo praised Solskjaer as a person and for the work he did.
“I love Solskjaer. I think he was a top person,” Ronaldo told Morgan TalkTV.
Ronaldo also claimed that United should have given Solskjaer more time instead of bringing in Ralf Rangnick
‘Cause what I keep in my heart is the person’s heart, and to me, Ole is a top person.
‘Coach? Of course he wasn’t looking for what he wants. After Sir Alex Ferguson it’s hard to believe but I think he certainly did well and he needed more time.
“But I have no doubt that he will be a good coach in the future. But it was a good experience. I was so happy to work for him, even though it was a short period.’
Solskjaer left United with 91 wins from 168 games, although under him the Red Devils were beaten on penalties in the Europa League final against Villarreal in 2021, meaning he failed to win a single trophy while in charge of the club.
